  • Overview

    Performs the logistics routing, scheduling, communicating, and administrative activities required to ensure transportation internal/external compliance, and ensure timely deliveries. This is a non-supervisory position. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM and every other Sunday from 12PM until. Must have flexibility to fill in for dispatch as needed.

    Responsibilities

    Responsible for the daily maintenance of driver logs according to D.O. T. regulations. Routing duties will include but not limited to making sure routes are being completed in the most efficient way possible, while still assuring customer needs are fulfilled.

     

    Contact drivers throughout their route to report any delays or problems that a driver may have thru the course of the delivery.

     

    Communicate with customer service and sales. Communicate with drivers of any changes that are made to their assign routes for the next delivery day. Communicate with Transportation Supervisor and/or Manager of any special deliveries such as hotshots, or redeliveries. Coordinate alarm codes and keys to customer locations. Track delivery scanning equipment.

     

    Creating and compiling DOT, warehouse, and various other logistics reports for the VP of Operations, Transportation Supervisor and/or Manager, or Warehouse department heads. Responsible for any other related administrative functions necessary for position.

     

    Other related duties assigned by Management.

    Qualifications

    Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

    Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record as shown on current MVR, no moving violations or preventable accidents in the last 12 months.

    Must have ability to read and comprehend computer printouts.

    Must have ability to write legibly.

    Must have high school diploma or GED or equivalent knowledge/education.

    Must have the ability to take direction, comprehend instructions and work well with others.

    Must have the ability to speak effectively, and clear articulation for the purpose of relaying important and immediate information to customers, drivers, and employees of Doerle Food Service.

    Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and operating basic office equipment.
