Overview

Doerle Food Services, LLC is taking applications for the position of Maintenance Technician at our Broussard, LA facility. This role performs a wide variety of general building maintenance repairs and services by scheduling and doing regular building checks for preventative maintenance. They maintain monthly inspection and maintenance of building and HVAC roof motors and fans and replace as needed; clean, grease and paint all equipment used in heating and ventilation. Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned.

 

This is a manual handling, labor intensive role.  Considerable strength and endurance is required to safely and successfully perform this job.  These strength and endurance demands are due to the bending, squatting, climbing requirements, as well as lifting tools/materials and the frequency with which they are handled; may lift items up to 40-60 lbs.  The work takes place in normal warehouse environments as well as in cooler and freezer compartments where the worker is exposed to hot, cold and freezing temperatures.

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Coordinate special projects as directed by the Vice President of Operations and the Maintenance Manager.

 

Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors.

 

Replace washers, faucets and seals on malfunctioning plumbing equipment; repair leaky faucets and clean clogged drains; install and repair sprinklers.

 

Repair plumbing, machinery, and electrical circuitry.

 

Repair, peform preventative maintenance on commercial refrigeration unit.

 

Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled and monitoring and maintaining all building systems as assigned.

 

Responsible for alerting the Facility Maintenance Manager of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or that may occur.

 

Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, City, State and Federal guidelines.

 

Special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined.

Qualifications

Must have knowledge of refrigeration service, repair, and maintenance. May substitute with coursework from a technical school in a related field.

Must have valid driver’s license.

Must have the ability to read, comprehend, and write legibly.

Must have a high school diploma or GED or equivalent knowledge/education.

Must have the ability to take direction, comprehend instructions and work well with others.

Must pass a material handling test.

Must be able to handle warehouse equipment.

 

Compensation/DOE

 

Shift is M-F 7am to 5pm (may vary depending on project completion/business need)
