Overview

Doerle Food Services, LLC is taking applications for the position of General Manager at our Fourchon Distribution Facility located in Port Fourchon, LA. The General Manager is a deadline driven, demanding role. Considerable strength, time management, and endurance is required to safely and successfully perform this job. The work takes place in normal warehouse environments as well as in cooler and freezer compartments where the worker is exposed to cold and very cold temperatures. This position will manage approximately 20-30 direct and indirect staff. This position requires six months of labor intensive warehouse training on material handling equipment, pulling orders, packing orders, auditing orders, and cleaning grocery boxes. Must also be able to be available for immediate reporting to facility for call-outs.

Responsibilities

Managing the overall operation of the facility including:

Customer service and satisfaction

Warehouse operations

Transportation (Delivery) activities

Inventory control and management

Accounting oversight (invoicing, payroll, expenditures etc.)

Purchasing oversight

Financial analysis and reporting

Expense control

Employee Safety

Compliance with applicable state and federal laws

Facility sanitation & security

Consistent application of company policies

Qualifications

Must be able to lift items that weigh as much as 80 lbs. (with an average of 26 lbs. per case) and on a weekly basis as much as 100 lbs.

Must have at least 10 years of previous management experience (managing a min. of 15 employees at one time) in a warehouse/distribution environment is required.

Must be able to effectively handle multiple tasks, while maintaining attention to detail, and strong analytical skills.

Extensive knowledge of the foodservice industry and products is preferred.

Must have proficient computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) is required.

Knowledge of general OSHA safety protocols is required.

Must be able to articulate instruction and have excellent communication skills

Must have the ability to read and comprehend computer printouts/picking labels and write legibly.

Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED

Must have a valid Louisiana driver's license with a clean driving record
